So you have bought the new router..? Great..!! Now waiting for your ISP person to configure the router and he is not coming on time, it’s really a pain waiting for a person just for a little thing especially when you need it urgently.

In this article, we will guide you how you can configure and setup Tenda router n301 wireless N300 yourself.

Tenda n301 is really a great Router for home and small Office use, it delivers wireless speed up to 300Mbps. Specification of this router is really awesome for a budget user, As its plug and play router.

You don’t need to install any software to make it work.If you follow the steps mentioned in this article, In Addition you will get a setup CD in the Box of this router.

Before we start the configurations we want to know you that it’s not a DSL router, its just simple cable Router which is working with any ISP like Tikona, Hathway, Five Network Broadband, YOU Broadband etc, For ISP like BSNL and Airtel you Additionally need a Modem.

So let’s get started to Configure the Tenda n301 router:

Plug in Power Adapter to the router which comes with your Tenda n301 router, Now Input you ISP cable to WAN port of the router.

Now open any one of your favourite web browser like chrome, firefox, internet explorer or safari and type 192.168.0.1 in address bar.

After entering the default ip you will get tenda login page where it will ask password, Default password for tenda router is admin (make sure caps lock is off)

Now you are on configuration page, click on left internet settings and select PPPoE and enter username and password in the field, if you have not that details please ask and get from your internet service provider, if you are configure it with bsnl or airtel modem, click on dynamic ip.

we consider here you have cable internet service provider. after entering credentials click on “ok” button

If you have successfully login with given credentials, you will get message in green text highlighted “you can now surf the internet” 

Now all set, the second step is to configure wireless, click on wirless settings. uncheck hide wifi field.

Enter desired wifi Name and password for identification, and click ok

password Should be a combination of number+alphabet+special character, password in this form is more secure and not easily guessable. 

some More options are also available here like, wifi signal strength and wifi schedule you can set it according to your need.

Make sure WPS is disable.

This is 2.4Ghz router, if you have a budget you can buy Tenda dual band router which have additional 5Ghz band, 5Ghz Provide significantly higher data transfer rate.

In General 2.4Ghz router provide under 50Mbps transfer rate and 5Ghz easily deliver 200-250Mbps transfer rate due to less congestion.

Now-a-days all the latest laptops and smarphone phones comes with 5Ghz band. if you choose dual band it will be a value for money.
